Senior Spotlight: Kitti

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I LOVE a good chat :) Phone conversations are just about my favorite way to spend a car ride, and I looooove coffee dates like none other! So, obviously this love carries over to my business too. It’s not unusual for me to hold full conversations while photographing clients — we chat for a bit when I first arrive, chat as we walk to new locations, chat while I actually take the photos…you get the picture :) After all, getting to know my clients is one of my favorite parts about photography!

I always walk away from my sessions with a huge smile on my face, more often than not thinking “Man! _____ is (are) such a cool person/couple/parents/family!!!” And, their photographs generally reflect that awesomeness! However, even I have to admit that a photograph does have its limits, especially when it comes to getting to know a person. Photographs fill that gap where words fail, but without those words, it can be hard to share the hearts behind the pretty faces too :)

In light of this, I’ve decided to intentionally spotlight two growing areas of my business: weddings & seniors! I want you to be able to see why I LOVE my clients — and there is no better way to do that than by getting to know their fun selves :) Each month, I will be featuring a 2015 senior or couple by bringing my chats to you, sharing some ol’ fashioned Q&As, and recapping their session from the fall!

First up is Kitti! Guys, this girl is the absolute SWEETEST! Her love for life and those around her is contagious, and I am so incredibly proud to know her.  I had such a fun time reading through her answers below, and can’t wait for you to as well :) If you missed Kitti’s session from last fall, make sure to check out the whole thing here! Otherwise, enjoy!!

So, let’s get the basics :) Tell us your name, age, school, & mascot!

My name is Kitti Gal and I am 18 years old. I am a senior at Fishers High School, Home of the Tigers and have loved every year of it.

If your friends could describe you in three words, what would they say?!

Caring, determined, and faithful

What has been your FAVORITE part of high school??

My favorite part of high school has been Friday night football games, especially during my senior year. Cheering on our Tigers in the student section with my friends was always super fun, and I could really feel our class coming together.Indianapolis Senior Photography by Sami Renee Photography

Outside of school, where could we most likely find you? What would you be doing?

Outside of school I am either spending time with my friends and family, at church, or horseback riding. I ride at Sterling Shields Stables and also teach beginner lessons there.

Let’s talk graduation!! Where are you hoping to be after high school?

After graduation, I plan on attending Indiana University in Bloomington to study psychology and maybe start a path of pre-occupational therapy. I also plan to continue riding and join the IU equestrian team.

(Sami here — AHHHH!!! Indiana is my alma mater & I literally SHRIEKED when I read this :) Kitti was undecided at the time of our session, so I am so happy to see she chose IU!!)

Finish the phrase: Reach for the stars & always: follow your dreams!Indianapolis Senior Photography by Sami Renee Photography

Tell us one random thing about you that others might not know :)

I enjoy sunsets on the beach, talking about life with my friends, and babysitting little children :)

Any final advice for the Class of 2015?

My advice for the Class of 2015 is that it is important to go out and find yourself along with your passions after graduation, but that doesn’t mean leave everything behind. You have people that love you here too :)

:) LOVE that last part Kitti shared especially!!! So fun!

Now, it’s YOUR turn! I have two things I would LOVE to hear back from you:

1. If you have any advice for Kitti (and the Class of 2015 in general!), what would it be?!

and

2. What should I title this new blog series?! I put Senior Spotlight for now…but I’m not crazy about it (especially since it will be for more than just seniors!!)! Any suggestions?! I’m looking for something catchy that could be used any day of the week, and if it had some alliteration action I definitely wouldn’t hate it… :) Haha! Leave a comment below and share the love!

  1. Ah I dunno if my comment worked? so if this posts twice im sorry!!, this title isnt photography related, but you are kind of giving us readers a glimpse of your clients life…so “In their shoes: celebrating Katti’s Senior Year!” “In their shoes: John & Kate get engaged!” “In their shoes: The Smith Family welcome’s a baby girl!” So you focusing and celebrating the clients big moment, while also giving a sneak peak into their life so we can celebrate along side them!!
    HAPPY THURSDAY FRIEND!!
