Monday Lovin’

Hey there, sweet friend! Happy Monday!

Today marks the first day back to business after an amazing week in Seacrest Beach! We love vacationing down along 30A, and even though I started off the trip with the remnants of a sinus cold, it was every bit worth it. Time away to recharge is vastly needed, and I loved the chance to s-l-o-w down our days and get into that beach rhythm!

As always, some things I’m loving & learning from the past week:

  • Never underestimate the power of a Chick-fil-A play space and Cracker Barrel restaurant. Haha! Mixing it up from the night drive, Chris and I drove home during the day last week, and Ryan did surprisingly AWESOME! We took hour long stops at each of those locations, and it was the perfect way for Ry to stretch out, wave at lots of people, and explore!
  • And when I say wave, I mean WAVE. This kid is obsessed with flopping his hand up and down…even if it’s already been 5 minutes and the stranger has waved back 20 times. #oops Good thing he’s cute, am I right?! ;)
  • Speaking of cute…babies bouncing on inflatable pizzas is officially my new favorite thing. We bought a giant blow up pepperoni slice for the beach, and Ryan loved sitting on it while he munched away. After a few tries, he figured out how to make it wiggle! It was HILARIOUS, and I’m pretty sure he could have bounced on it for days!
  • My 2017 beach reads? A Man Called Ove and 1984. I am taking over a homeschool British Literature class for a few weeks during a friend’s maternity leave, and I can’t wait to dive into all the content of 1984 — a book I hadn’t read since high school! A Man Called Ove was a much different read, but one of my favorites nevertheless! I really enjoyed the author’s (almost over the top) use of similes, and the dry humor had my laughing out loud!
  • P.S. Launching something new for your business is over-the-moon exciting and terrifying at the same time. I’ve hit all kinds of emotions prepping content for the first Intro to Photography Workshop this Saturday and flutter back in forth from heck-yes-I’ve-got-this to oh-em-gee-what-if-they-all-hate-me-and-climb-out-the-windows-to-get-away.
  • …not that they’ll be locked in the house, of course, but I’m just trying to capture my dramatic-ness about it. Lol!!!
  • Also, shopping for carpet is super confusing and not fun. I’m a visual person, so I really struggle when I can’t SEE what something is going to look like. I think Ryan is the same way — he reeeally had to dive into the carpet samples to give us a more informed opinion. Haha!! Luckily, we have several samples coming our way that I can’t wait to put in various rooms upstairs!

And that’s about it! I have several fun posts coming to the blog soon, including the sweetest newborn session, a recap from our Florida trip, and one of my 2017 couples’ engagement, too!

Have a beautiful Monday, friends!

Love love love,

Sami
