Because there’s just no better way to celebrate the last day of 2018 than with one of my favorite blog posts of the year: 2018 Best of Weddings!!
However, before we start, I have to say this:
I can’t even BEGIN to express how thankful I am to have been a part of so many amazing weddings this past year. My couples are truly incredible, and as a result, their days are filled with JOY and LIFE — what a beautiful thing to be a part of every weekend!!!
This wedding season was extra special, as it was my first as a momma of TWO boys. Adam was born a few weeks before we kicked off the 2018 season, and I am so thankful Emily and James were able to shoot that first wedding in my place while we all adjusted to life as a family of four. Their Scottish Rite Cathedral wedding was simply stunning!
And that was just the beginning of so many amazing best-day-evers! We had the honor of working with so many amazing wedding vendor #dreamteams at local wedding venues like the Ritz Charles, Biltwell Event Center, and the Central Library in downtown Indianapolis, to destination weddings at the Oakwood Resort on Lake Wawasee, The Monastery Event Center in Cincinnati, and the IMU in Bloomington, too!
All in all, 2018 will forever be a year to remember, and I am thrilled to share a round-up of some of my very favorite images with you today! Enjoy, friends!
Jackson and Courtney’s intimate backyard wedding was my first of its kind, and I loved the warmth and ease that filled their day! And, I mean, come on…that POOL HOUSE! So thankful for these two and their beautiful love story!
My other lakeside wedding took place on the beautiful Lake Wawasee! Kelsey & Jarrod’s wedding day was full of incredible moments — which is exactly what you’d expect with a couple like these two! Kelsey had been dreaming of a wedding on this very lawn since she was running around the lake as a little girl. I’ll never forget the moment she walked across that same grassy lawn as a BRIDE!
Maggie and Joe’s ceremony was full of personal details like this potted tree, filled with dirt from both their childhood homes. Granted, their ceremony was also full of hilarious moments, too…like when the national anthem blasted over the speakers for a little league baseball game right next door. Haha!
Lindsay and Pat’s Scottish Rite celebration was the very first wedding of the year! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be there in person (#maternityleave), but Emily and James did an AMAZING job capturing their day! Sharing their first dance while all their friends and family looked on…such a forever kind of moment!
It *poured* almost the entire day of Sarah and James’ wedding at the Barn in Zionsville — but the sun broke through just in time for portraits, and the rain held off through the end of their outdoor ceremony! What a gift!
And you can’t forget Chris and Emily’s Central Library wedding in downtown Indianapolis! Every single thing about their day was PERFECT — but I’ll never forget Emily reading to her sweet flower girl right before their outdoor courtyard ceremony. A teacher through-and-through!
And Christina and Kevin’s Ritz Charles wedding took place on the most perfectly sunny summer kind of day. I loved this “O” we found while taking photos – perfect for their new shared last name!
Molly and Weston’s fall Bloomington wedding had the BEST light (and the best location…#hoosierproud)! I loved working alongside Morgan of Ashley Weddings & Events for this one — what a flawless, joyful day!
A favorite moment from Kelsey and Jarod’s day….Collins!!!!
I will never forget this First Look in the rain…or the way James looked at Sarah when he saw her in her dress for the very first time!!!
Kate and Matt’s elegant-meets-industrial wedding at The Biltwell will forever be a favorite, too! Any chance to work with Amber (Blush + Blossom Events) and Andrea (Bella Sorella Floral Design) is the best!
The sweetest moment right before Joe saw his bride…
And Taylor and Jonah’s wedding at The Monastery Event Center was the *perfect* way to cap off an amazing year! Isn’t she the most stunning bride?!
I mean, there are no words. :) :)
