Friday Reflections + Last Weekend’s Recap

It’s FRIDAY!! Woohoo!!!!!

I don’t know what it is about this day that just makes everything seem better — because even though I will actually be working a LONGER day tomorrow than any day I’ve worked this week (WOOT WOOT for my first fall wedding!!!), it still just feels like a happy day. Plus I get to wear jeans to work, so that’s always a bonus :)

ANYWAY, I am so sorry to have disappeared for this past week on the blog! With our trip to DC over last weekend, a case of that BLECH fall cold pretty much everyone else seems to have this week too, and several million meetings/paper-grading-extravaganzas galore, it’s been a bit crazy around here! Not to mention getting everything ready & prepped for what is quickly turning in to a jam packed Autumn photography season!!! Luckily for me, the great thing about having job(s) you love is that they don’t quite seem like work all of the time :)

Our trip to DC was so much fun — and super neat because my cousin’s football team played the team from Remember The Titans!!!! Without Bertier, Sunshine, & the boys, TC Williams didn’t have much too much to offer though, so the Cougars walked away with the W! While it was quite rainy (translation: it poured, we were soaked, and it sort of was awful) during the whole game, we still had fun cheering them on!

On Sunday my aunt, Chris, and I ventured down to Georgetown, and I was finally able to test out my new ONA bag!!! I LOVED using it and didn’t feel weird carting it around in any of the stores/restaurants we visited at all. The opened top made it so easy to grab my camera for a quick pic & then easily slide it right back in to the safe storage! I also really just enjoyed the way it looks :) My only complaint as of now is its weight; the bag itself is pretty heavy…but I’m hoping that it will just take a little getting used to. It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day — perfect weather, gorgeous clouds, & great company :)

I did a new mini-project with my Creative Writing classes on “Found Poems”, and it was AWESOME to see all of the creative pieces they managed to pull together from a random text. If you follow along with me on instagram, you probably caught a sneak peek of one I created during class too…but you’ll have to keep your eyes out for some more student sneak peeks too (because their’s were way better! Ha!).

Otherwise, enjoy today & especially have a happy happy WEEKEND!! Be on the lookout for sneak peeks of tomorrow’s wedding — I can’t WAIT to see all of the amazingness Aileen & Ethan have in store :)

Happy Friday!!!

Love love love,

me
