Today’s ice storm means all the couch-cuddling and editing fun while the boys nap! It was so fun waking up to see our whole world covered in a sheet of ice. Chris decided to work from home, and, to celebrate, we had hot cocoa with breakfast, blasted Christmas music all morning long, made the first fire of the year, and put together a pretty awesome fort too!

But, back to the real reason for this blog: Shelby and Matt’s engagement session!! These two braved the chilly early morning temps for a perfect sunrise engagement on the canal…and it was 100% worth it! Granted, they’ve spent the past few years in Milwaukee, so they kept reassuring me that they “weren’t even that cold”. Meanwhile, I was on the other side of the camera in my winter parka, a puffy hat, and Uggs! Haha!

Despite the chill, we had the best time together. I loved getting to know Shelby and Matt more — a huge reason why I love engagement sessions in general — and just seeing the way they interact and laugh with each other was so special. It’s so clear how much they adore each other, and I can’t wait to celebrate with them again next August!!

For now, grab something warm to sip on, snuggle up in a blankie, and enjoy a preview of our time together! It’s a beautiful one, friends!
