Sarah and James are married! While their wedding at The Barn in Zionsville had the potential to be an every-so-dreary rainy day, it turned into a gorgeous midwest summer celebration. I am so excited to share it with you today!
This Zionsville wedding is extra special to me, as it was my first one back after having Adam! If you’ve been around the blog for some time, you know we welcomed our second son into the world this past March. I have been so grateful for my time off with him and Ryan these past 11 weeks; however, I was SO READY to kick off my wedding season with these two!
Sarah and James compliment each other wonderfully, and their wedding day was full of so many personal touches and details. I love that they weren’t afraid to do their own thing. From sticking with an outdoor ceremony no matter the forecast, to writing their own (AMAZING!) vows and combining two different kinds of beers instead of the traditional sand, Sarah and James made sure their day reflected their love. And, because of that, it was perfect in every single way.
Enjoy a peek into their day, friends! And, congratulations again, Sarah and James!!!
It may have thundered and stormed the entire time I was shooting details, but as soon as Sarah put on her dress, I swear the skies started to clear! You never know what you’ll get with an Indiana forecast, so we pushed up the first look by 20 minutes and headed outside with two umbrellas — and it couldn’t have been any more sweet!
There’s just something extra romantic about rainy wedding days, I think. :) However…then the sprinkles stopped, and the sun began to SHINE!! Seriously!! I never would have guessed we’d have gotten the day we did looking at the radar that morning…but we did. And I am just so happy for these two! As soon as we saw the clouds were letting up, Maggie rushed to grab the girls and we were able to take care of ALL their bridal party photos in the SUN!! Ahh!!
And then it was time for the ceremony! James told me at the beginning of the day that he was going to cry during the first look, but he managed to hold it together. Of course, nothing could stop the tears from rolling once he saw Sarah walking down the aisle with her daddy, though! I tell my couples over and over again…doing a first look takes away NONE of the emotion from the ceremony. Nothing can replace that moment at all! :)
I don’t normally share family formals on the blog, but I just loved this one of Sarah and her mom!
And I just had to include this, because LOOK AT THAT SKY! All the worry & stress about a rainy day…and we had the most beautiful evening to enjoy!
And then it was time for the party to begin! The dance floor was packed all night long — such a fun group celebrating Sarah and James’ day!
Congratulations, Sarah and James! What a wonderful day — you’re officially MARRIED!! :)
