I had been looking forward to Emily and Chris’ Indianapolis Public Library wedding ever since we met in Bloomington last fall for their engagement session. Ya know, the one that included Bloomington in the fall…along with both the football stadium AND Assembly Hall?! #bestdayever Haha! And it’s crazy, because even though that session was so incredibly epic on its own…it had NOTHING on their wedding day.
Not only did Chris and Emily get married at one of my favorite wedding venues of all time, but they were just seriously so great to work with — throughout the entire engagement leading up to this past weekend. I’ve never been more happy for Tinder (#theyswipedright) and am so thankful these two are officially husband and wife! The best bridal party, the greatest speeches (I especially loved Chris’s brother’s retelling of their first date!), a crazy reception entrance, and more…it was just hands-down a wonderful day, and I’m so excited to share a peek into their story with you today!
Emily got ready with all of her bridesmaids at her parent’s house in Fishers. When we arrived, everyone was relaxed and enjoying the morning — the perfect vibe to start the day!
After the first look with her Dad, we headed downtown to the Indianapolis Central Library!
Loved this bridal party so much! And how perfect are these colors for a 4th-of-July-loving couple like Emily and Chris?! :)
Obsessed!!
Love these SO much!!!
We were able to wrap up all their portraits before the ceremony, which was in the side gardens of the downtown library. It was absolutely perfect!
While the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, I got to photograph all the gorgeous reception details. Between the natural light flowing into the library, the jaw-dropping florals by Gina Howald, and that BUNDT CAKE….I just couldn’t deal. So gorgeous!!
Okay so a little back story…Scott (featured groomsman below) thought it would be a great idea to slide down the banister for his entrance….until he fell off the side and THANKFULLY landed on his own two feet. See the planner’s face and my terrible composition of that 3rd shot post-throwing-my-camera-to-attempt-catch-him-if-necessary for proof of the anxiety this moment caused all the guests. Hahah!
…Emily and Chris opted for a much safer entrance. :) Haha!
And of course, we snuck out for some of that golden light during dinner. We were outside for *maybe* 5 minutes — worth it every single time!! That LIGHT!
And then it was time for the party to begin!
Congratulations again, Emily and Chris! I am so thankful to have been part of your day and can’t wait to follow along as your next chapter together begins!!
