So, the Monday Love is comin’ atchya a day late…but hopefully you’re not too upset about it! Chris had a long weekend off work, which always throws off the Monday schedule — but in the best way possible, of course. :) We got a lot of things done around the house, went to TWO new (to us) Indianapolis restaurants, and had some fun family/friend time, too! These weekends are always so great, and I love taking advantage of all the time together!
As always, some things I’m loving & learning from the past week:
- Chris and I have always been big brunch people. We love going to new local restaurants, and our date budget mostly consists of food. It’s one of the traditions I was most worried about continuing when we became parents. Looking back on it, I think we could have done much more with Ryan at a younger age, but I think we were just a little nervous. Thank goodness we got over that (haha!), because going out with just the three of us? It’s so much fun!!!!
- Especially because Ryan is kind of a tank when it comes to the food department. The kid typically puts away all of his food + some of mine, too! Minus the fact that half of it ends up on the floor….#oops. We’ve become great tippers these days, too! Haha!
- On Saturday we visited The Monon Food Company in Broad Ripple, and then we grabbed pizza at Jockamo’s with friends + our babies on Sunday! I may or may not have fallen in love with their Thai Pizza…it’s a combo I NEVER would have ordered for myself, but I’m so glad my friend Michelle did!
- We’ve also been on the hunt for a new show after finishing Parenthood last month. Last night, we finally decided to take the leap with The Walking Dead….which led to my greatest Netflix mishap yet.
- ….otherwise known as the time I started the first episode and got sucked in BIG time. Chris and I kept looking at each other in awe of the complexity of plot, and I said once or twice “GEEZE, they’ve introduced like 20 characters so far!! This is insane!!”. I couldn’t wait to find out all of the things the episode was setting up, and we both kept getting so excited when we realized how different people were connected. It was CRAZY!!!
- That is, until the episode ended in an intense cliff-hanger, and Netflix brought up a new show as a suggestion “To Watch Next”.
- ….because, yes. The “pilot” episode I thought I had started for us? It was actually the Season 6 series finale.
- AHHHHHHHH!!!
- Never have I ever laughed so hard and been SO disappointed in myself at the same time. Haha!!! Luckily, Chris forgave me, and we started the actual pilot episode, which still was pretty good! Can’t wait to keep watching….even if I ruined a lot of the plot for us most likely. #oops
And that’s about it, friends! Thanks for stopping by the blog and saying hey. Oh! And if you missed it over the weekend, I shared a post on Saturday featuring the most stylish engaged couple from the shootout I participated in at Reset!! Check it out!
Happy Tuesday, friends! Eat some pie to celebrate 3.14 while you’re at it, and enjoy your day!
Love love love,
Sami
