It is always such an honor to be asked to photograph someone you already know, so you can imagine my excitement when Jenna reached out to me shortly after Jeremy proposed. Jenna and I were sorority sisters at IU, and I have all kinds of fun memories with her from our years in Bloomington! She is kind, dedicated, thoughtful, and fun, so I knew Jeremy would have to be a really stellar guy to land a girl like her. When we chatted on the phone, she told me all about their relationship and his proposal: how he surprised her during a family vacation and carefully thought out every single detail. I couldn’t wait to meet him! When their engagement session finally arrived, Jeremy introduced himself with a big smile, exclaiming “We hug around here!!” as he disregarded my handshake and gave me a hug instead. Talk about a great first impression!

I love all engagement sessions, but this one was extra special, as it was the first time Jenna and Jeremy had been together since the night he had proposed!! Can you imagine?! Long distance is not for the faint of heart, but these two so clearly have what it takes. Jeremy kept looking over at her, and at one point squeezed her tight, sharing “I just have to keep checking to make sure she’s really there!!” Haha! After months of phone calls and Skype sessions, spending an hour or so outdoors wrapped in each other’s arms under that sweet Indiana glow just couldn’t be beat.

We ended our session at a little winery I spotted during the drive in. The golden light was to DIE for, and I am so glad Jenna and Jeremy trusted me when I recommended this spot!
