Last Saturday, I welcomed seven women into our cozy home for a three hour intensive on shooting in manual, capturing great light, composing eye-pleasing shots, and documenting those everyday moments! It was a whirlwind of knowledge, and, despite a Panera Bread coffee mixup at the beginning (oops!), it couldn’t have gone any better. :)
My favorite part about the workshop was seeing everyone’s lightbulb moments throughout the morning. Before we dove into the material, I had each woman share a little about herself and why she had chosen to come.
And, over and over again, it came back to one thing: frustration.
Frustration at blurry photos, frustration with out of focus images, and frustration over terrible coloring — all despite being on auto!
Needless to say, getting to pass along the knowledge and know-how to capture those moments clearly was such a joy, and I am already planning for the next workshop this summer!
My only regret? I didn’t take a SINGLE photo of the entire morning!!! I had big plans to capture a group picture of all of us along with some of the cute details and goodies I had set up…but nope. Luckily enough, my cousin Maggie snapped a few while she was there — so so thankful for these images!
Enjoy a super tiny peek into the first ever Introduction to Photography workshop, friends! Love that one on the right above! Yay for attendees helping attendees, people! :) No, I’m not photographing the girls…haha!! We were talking about how to track your exposure — lots of hands on practice and activities!
