Oh, friends. I am so excited to share Baby Abram’s lifestyle newborn session today. I knew this one would be special the minute I started reading Kendra’s inquiry email. She shared how their sweet son had surprised everyone by arriving rather early this past May. After two and a half months in the NICU, he was finally *home*, and they wanted to book a session as soon as possible to document this special time.
As you may or may not know, one of my best friends and her husband have been going through a similar journey this summer. I’ve seen firsthand all the struggles and scares that come with parenting a NICU baby, as well as the pure joy and relief that comes as they conquer the odds, too. I knew I wanted to make this session happen no matter what kind of schedule re-arranging it would take.
Luckily, we were able to figure out a date that worked within the week, and I was able to spend the morning with the three of them (plus their sweet pup, Fuzz!), capturing all the baby snuggles and cuddles I could.
Despite all the hard nights, sleepless moments, and long feeds, Matt and Kendra could not have looked more radiant as they held their son. Photographing their awe — awe at having him home, awe at his little hands and feet and body that has already grown so, so much, awe at getting to snuggle and cuddle and dress and wrap and hold him after so many months of not having that choice…it was such an honor.
Matt and Kendra, you are already such amazing parents to your sweet son. Thank you, to the moon and back, for inviting me into your home.
Welcome home, sweet boy!
If you enjoyed this session, you’ll love:
