Well, after kicking off the wedding season with a bang in June, I’ve enjoyed a bit of a break over the last month — lots of family trips and weekends at home have been such a gift! It’s always funny to me how weddings end up falling over the course of the year. It’s not common to have the second half of July and all of August off, but I’m actually really thankful for it: especially as Ry has started school and home / motherhood has been a bit more demanding! This fall is FULL of wedding celebrations and I know I’ll be busy busy busy so soon — so I’ve enjoyed soaking up Saturdays with our boys.

And of course, even as I say I haven’t been busy, I *have* been busy with all the cozy newborn sessions (just look at that sweet little brand new baby hand above!), as well as all the other business things! I shared this post earlier in the week, and it’s so true as an entrepreneur: there really is no off-season (unless intentionally created). So much work is unseen!

Another big update from the week: we officially made it through the first full week of school! I recently shared about my sadness/excitement for this next season in life — so overjoyed for Ryan to start school and experience one of my favorite parts of childhood, but also so sad to lose the uninterrupted time together and all the flexibility of no school life. Thankfully, he’s LOVING it so far, and I’m so so proud of him!

A few other things I’ve been loving this week….

• I can’t get over how perfect this children’s book is Chris and I picked up in Waco at The Silos! There’s a whole series, and now I want to collect them all. Anyone else have such a weakness for gorgeously designed children’s literature?!
• Also a big fan of this library find: books without words are SO fun, as they spark all the imagination and make the boys think! It really shows the power of pictures…and challenges me to be even more of a storyteller with the images I capture and curate, too.
• This post about why I LOVE blogging sessions still goes along that same line….
• and this pillow that mysteriously found it’s way into my cart during a quick trip into Target! :)
• In the midst of a lot of world chaos, I’ve loved having these specific ways to pray for Afghanistan, as well as these three real life action steps to take, too.
• Also, these are the perfect after-school treat (and mom treat). Highly recommend!
