Happy happy Tuesday!!!
Not many days I get to say that on the blog :) I was originally planning on sharing this post yesterday, but our anniversary post seemed a little more fitting :) So for today’s post, I thought I would give the weekend recap/love I would normally share on Mondays!!!
This past weekend was such a great one — full of birthday celebrating, food eating, DIY crafting, football watching, dog walking, snack munching, & picture snapping FUN!!! Birthdays are some of my favorite times — not necessarily because of the gifts, but more so because of the community! I am so so so blessed with so much love, and this weekend was just a beautiful reminder of that!!!
I LOVED kicking the weekend off with some good ol’ fashioned high school football Friday night — even if we lost, it was still so great to cheer on my students & hang out with teacher friends! We made it inside just in time for the MONSOON of rain that hit Lakewood, but it was nothing a few drinks couldn’t ride out :) And, as a result, I had perfect birthday weather for Saturday morning!!!
Speaking of perfect, my hubs outdid himself this year. Not only did I wake up to HOMEMADE RED VELVET CAKE BALLS (yes, it was 8am and yes, I ate them with glee anyway), but I also had two new books, a sweet initial mug, and an ONA BAG waiting for me as well!!!! Ahh!!!!!
Now, if you’ve been following along with the blog for a bit, you might be a little confused as I have always talked about getting a Kelly Moore bag — but after talking with some photogs who owned their own Kelly swag, I realized they weren’t quite exactly what I was looking for. To begin with, the bags aren’t made with real leather (but are still priced as if they were…), so after a year of consistent use most of their bags had started to fray and show some wear & tear!!! Not good! I had heard about ONA, but they were even pricier than the Kelly Moore bags…so I hadn’t really looked much into them.
In fact, it wasn’t really until Chris started hinting & asking about Kelly Moore that I confessed I wasn’t quite sure I wanted to spend the money on those if they weren’t going to last! I decided to google ONA to see some more reviews / read up on them a bit..and was SO impressed!!! Never did I ever think I would get one for my birthday…but he conspired with my MIL as well and made it happen :)
It’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and I am so excited to test it out this weekend on our trip to DC!!! It is just the right size — I can easily fit my camera body with a lens, plus an additional 2 lenses with room for all sorts of other gadgets too! I love the side pocket on the back and the separators inside the purse as well :)
I also took a few pictures of my “office”…it’s still not anywhere NEAR done, but these are a few of my favorite pieces :) I’m especially obsessed with my tiny teal stapler. It’s the cutest thing ever!!!! Well, except for these two. They might be cuter :) Happy Tuesday!!!!
