I am so happy to share Carson’s lifestyle newborn session today! You’ll probably recognize this trio-turned-four; after all, the Randel family is no stranger to the blog! I captured Chase’s 6 month and 1 year photos last year, and I was overjoyed when April & Eric shared their exciting news about Baby #2!! :)

Carson was the most laid-back newborn ever — he was wide awake for the whole session, but completely content wherever we were. We started off with some family story time, and I loved seeing Chase interact and love on his new best friend. I can only imagine the shenanigans these two will get into someday!

But that’s why lifestyle sessions are my favorite: I love that we were able to capture authentic moments between the two of them (even if, as April pointed out, they may have been dressed up a little nicer than a normal family day. Haha!). I shoot these photos for today, yes, but I also shoot them for the future, too.

Someday, I hope Carson looks back at these photos and sees the way his big brother loved him even from day one. That he’ll catch the look on his dad’s face as he held him tight, and that he’ll see the way his mom fell in love with him more and more even when it just didn’t seem possible to love any bigger. He’ll notice how close they all are, and how he fits just right in the midst of the four of them. What a beautiful, precious gift to have!!
