If you’ve been around the blog for a while, you’ll recognize this Indianapolis family right after the bat. Scott and Christine’s wedding at The Alexander is still one of my favorites to date, so you can only imagine my excitement when I found out they were expecting their first little girl this past winter! Christine and Scott are just about the kindest people you’ll ever meet, and I just knew Christine was going to adore being a momma — that indescribable connection and love pregnancy and motherhood brings, and all the joy that comes with it!

Well, apparently little miss Elani was excited for that, too! Despite several weeks of bed rest for Christine, Elani surprised everyone by arriving eight weeks early this past May. Thankfully, the Community North NICU team was there for every step of the way — both Christine and Scott couldn’t say enough about their nurses and doctors and the amazing impact they had on Elani’s story.

Her journey so far has definitely held all kinds of tears and victories for Scott and Christine, but after two months of driving back and forth every day and leaving part of their hearts behind, Elani is finally HOME!

Every newborn session is special, but this one was especially dear to my heart. Scott and Christine, thank you for inviting me into your home and giving me the honor of capturing your sweet little girl. Words can’t describe the incredible strength, love, and grace you all hold, and I am just so grateful to know you! I loved getting to see you both with your girl — she is so lucky to have you.
