I am so excited to share baby Scarlett’s Fresh 48 session with you today from Community North Hospital. When Stephanie and Derek told me they were interested in adding on this option to their newborn and maternity package, I couldn’t have been happier for them.  I didn’t quite realize the value of these images until we had Ryan and didn’t document any of his first days in the hospital with a real camera…it’s my only regret!

Those first newborn days are always anything but planned, especially when your little one arrives three weeks ahead of schedule. But having these photos as a record of the time is priceless! Stephanie and Derek are so in love with their little girl, and I loved getting to watch them learn more about her. After all, that’s what newborn life is all about: figuring out how this little person in front of you works through all kinds of trial and error. And it’s the same for Scarlett too — she’s brand new to this world and learning all about what it means to be a baby!

I’ll never forget watching Derek learn how to help feed Scarlett, or the way Scarlett’s sweet little eyelids wrinkled up every time she slept, or how Stephanie smiled down at her little girl, head over heels in love with the tiny person in her arms. Fresh 48 sessions are as real life as you get — no styled nurseries, fancy props, or amazing lighting — but they are full of that fresh newborn life, and that makes them incomparably beautiful.
